Seven PC games pulling their weight in 2026
A mix of 2026 releases and older games that still hold up, filtered through what we track and test on this site.
GameSpot's running Best PC Games list spans nearly sixty titles. Rather than mirror it, we pulled the entries that overlap with what we track, added context from our own patch coverage, and kept the list short enough to act on.
Arc Raiders
An extraction shooter built around other players. Whether you trust or rob the people you meet decides how any given run goes, and the game does little to push you either way. Our biggest caveat has nothing to do with design: live-service shooters live and die by population, and it is too early to call this one's floor.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
A turn-based RPG in Unreal Engine 5 that borrows timing mechanics from action games. The parry window is the whole battle system in miniature: learn it and fights turn into rhythm, ignore it and you will grind. It runs well on mid-range hardware by UE5 standards.
Hades 2
Melinoë's runs against Chronos add resource management on top of the first game's formula. Supergiant kept the loop intact and stretched it: more weapons, more boons, more reasons to fail on purpose while testing a build.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The sequel trades some of the original's friction for fluidity in combat, and conversation checks now matter as much as sword checks. It is a role-playing game in the literal sense, which is rare enough to be worth saying.
Blue Prince
A mansion that rearranges itself every run, drafted room by room like a card hand. The puzzle design rewards note-taking in a way few modern games dare. It came out in 2025 and nothing since has copied it successfully.
Monster Hunter Wilds
The newest entry streamlines tracking and adds a wound system that gives long fights checkpoints of progress. Our patch audit covers the PC-specific problems; the current build is in better shape than launch, with framerate drops in certain areas still on the developer's list.
Cyberpunk 2077
Four years of patches later, the game holds its biggest Steam player peak since Phantom Liberty. Our frame counter coverage explains what the 2.5 update changed. As a package it is the cheapest way to fill a hundred hours on this list.
What we left out
GameSpot's list includes several 2026 releases we have not finished testing, among them Gears of War: E-Day and Nioh 3. They earn a place here once we have numbers, not before.
